Darwin Aguilar

DARWIN AGUILAR - PINOY ROCK METAL
The family patriarch is the most influential person in the most basic part of the community. So much so, that, he can wield influence in politics, religion, culture and music. “I grew up listening to my fathers wide collection of cassette tapes, mostly country music, folk song , rock and others. He works as an OFW based in Hawaii in a US-based facility”, explains Darwin Aguilar.
Born and raised in Tarlac City, Darwin would inherit his father’s music. “My father influenced me into a lot of things, he also sings and play the bass guitar”, furthers Darwin. Back then, his father brought home boxfull of cassette tapes from Hawaii and would listen and sing-along with it with a soft broom to boot. The Beatles was his main influence growing up. But, as an infant, he would refuse to sleep without first hearing Paul Anka or Neil Sadaka’s music.
In college, he studied in  St.Louis University in Baguio City in 1994. He would eventually meet future bandmates Al Ayeras and Natz Flores who are with Revelation at that time. When some of it’s members migrated to the US, Darwin was instrumental in reformatting and resurging Revelation as a 4th generation vocalist. “Matagal ko na sila kakilala since my college days pa, actually kasabayan namin sila ng banda kong ‘Metal illness’ that time. Friendship, rather than being in a band, from 2011 to 2012,was the catalyst in being a marquee vocalist for them.” remembers Darwin.
Darwin furthered his vocal skill by listening intently to some of the greats in music. Juan Dela Cruz, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, Deep Purple. “Rock/Metal ang genre ng music  ko, pero nakikinig ako sa lahat ng genre ng rock at metal. Pwera lang KPop, hinahayaaan ko sa mga anak ko yun”, dismisses Darwin. The Grunge genre also played a great influence on him. With the likes of Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, Skid Row, Metallica, Megadeth, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and others. He almost always emulates the singing styles of Axl Rose, Eddie Vedder, Brian Johnson and James Helfield.
By far, Dawin’s band Iron Justice has released an album entitled “Flight Of The Ravens” (Hellhouse Records) in 2013. On the same year an album compilation “Metal Meltdown 2 Compilation Album”  included their song “Death To The Weak” courtesy of Queen Of Pain Production.
Iron Justice is part of long running roadshow “Renegades Of Rock” produced by Ramon "The Doctor" Zialcita and Erwin Delos Reyes of Fear Production. Darwin has shared the limelight with Drue dela Hostria of Dahong Palay, Pol Viloria of Mutiny and Mike Bewer of Piranha.
His former bands include Metal Illness, Kilogram, Shelter Boxx and his current band ‘Iron Justice’ has been pounding since 2012. With the 4th generation of the  band’s current line up: Jojie Crisologo on guitars Robert Dela Cruz on drums and Darwin on vocals. They are currently looking for new bassist to complete the lineup.
